On Tuesday, December 21, 2021, the Graduate School of Human Sciences and the Graduate School of Sport Sciences jointly held the Winter Gathering for International Students. As an online event, we played a special version of rock-paper-scissors based on a cheating method in an ice breaker session to help the international students relax, before the main entertainment began. As for the main event, we held a drawing game. Gathering participants were divided into a ramen team and a sushi team using break out rooms, and each team drew their favorite toppings or menu items.
After each team decided on a menu item or toppings, they introduced them to the other team. Not only the international students, but also faculty and staff members participated in the game. Everyone had fun introducing unique sushi dishes and toppings for ramen noodles using specialty foods from the home countries of participating students.
After the game, we invited freshman students to introduce themselves briefly.
The gathering was held online, which allowed students attending from overseas to meet and interact with fellow students and faculty members. It was a good opportunity for everyone who joined! Thank you to everyone who participated! The next one is scheduled for the spring semester, and we hope this can be held in person if the situation allows. We hope you will join us again for this event.
