Organized by the Waseda University Faculty of Human Sciences, subsidized by the Nakajima Foundation and supported by JASSO, the symposium will feature lectures and workshops on a variety of participatory research methodologies, including community campaigns centered on transformation, photo and video production, and visual methods. In the workshops, participants will engage in hands-on practice of these approaches, reflecting on their experiences and exploring how such methods can be applied in their own research and educational settings.
This symposium also aims to foster greater empathy and mutual understanding by helping participants deepen and transform their engagement with the world around them and the people within it. The international research team behind this project brings extensive experience from diverse educational settings, and the insights gained are expected to provide valuable learning opportunities for educators and researchers working in primary, secondary, tertiary, and non-formal education.
