Master’s Program
Master’s Program
The master’s program is composed of five majors: Educational Science major, Japanese Language and Literature Education major, English Language Education major, Social Studies Education major, and Mathematics Education Major. Here we introduce the master’s program structure and characteristics, and the master’s degrees that can be obtained at the Graduate School of Education. Doctoral Program
The doctoral program is composed of two majors – Fundamental Studies of Educational Sciences major and Curriculum Area Sciences major. Teacher’s License
Students can acquire specialization certificates and primary school teaching licenses
Students who have obtained a primary license for elementary school, junior high school or senior high school teacher are able to acquire an equivalent school type or subject specialization certificate by obtaining the necessary credits for a teaching license and completing the program. Furthermore, although numbers are limited, there is also a possibility of students obtaining as part of the master’s program a new secondary license as an elementary school teacher.

Students who have yet to obtain a teaching license are able to obtain a primary License by obtaining the necessary credits as a non-degree student at the School of Education.

Exchange with other universities
- Keio University Graduate School
The Graduate School of Education has concluded a student exchange agreement with Keio University Graduate School of Letters and Graduate School of Human Relations, allowing students from both universities to sit courses at the other university as exchange students. - Graduate student exchange alliance
An agreement for inter-university student exchange in graduate school education has been signed with Kyoto University, Keio University and the University of Tokyo, helping to promote the exchange of graduate students with a focus on research instruction as a part of doctoral courses.
