GMP Students Introduce GMP at Waseda University Open Campus

On August 3rd (Saturday) and 4th (Sunday), 2024, Waseda University School of Commerce organized its Open Campus event. Three current Global Management Program (GMP) students – Shuji Motoda, Chiharu Yanagi, and Sora Yamaguchi – provided an overview of the GMP curriculum at the event. Their session attracted 429 attendees on Saturday and 291 on Sunday.

The student presenters offered insights into the GMP’s curriculum from the perspective of their firsthand experience of the program. With the growing emphasis on global education in high schools, both students and parents in attendance demonstrated keen interest in the program. The Q&A session following the presentation was particularly engaging, with numerous inquiries about study abroad opportunities and GMP completion requirements. Attendees expressed particular interest in global learning experiences and career prospects. GMP student presenters who had participated in international programs, such as the Hong Kong International Case Competition (HKICC), or are planning to study abroad provided firsthand insights on these topics.

Shuji Motoda, a fourth-year GMP student and presenter, remarked, “We hope our presentation inspired many high school students to consider Waseda University and the GMP.” The enthusiastic response from attendees suggests growing interest in the program among prospective students.
