On Tuesday, May 30th, the Global Management Program (GMP) held its second forum event, which proved to be an enlightening and engaging experience for all participants. The event was designed to facilitate both personal and professional growth, featuring a fun ice-breaking activity in the first half and interactive negotiation role-play simulations in the second half.
The ice-breaking activity served as an excellent catalyst for fostering student connections. Through team-building exercises, participants had the opportunity to get to know each other better, establishing a strong sense of collaboration. Notably, with their growing familiarity with GMP and seminar activities, the third-year students showed enthusiasm and active involvement.
In the main event, students participated in negotiation role-play simulations, where they presented innovative and diverse approaches to solving business problems. Working in pairs, students assumed the roles of representatives from fictional companies and engaged in negotiations with the objective of maximizing profits through buying or selling products. The activity presented a valuable opportunity for students to put their knowledge into practice, exercise critical thinking skills, and make strategic decisions in a real-world context. Moreover, students gained practical experience in navigating intricate negotiations, refining their effective communication and persuasion abilities.
Furthermore, the event brought forth an exciting announcement of a distinguished team of students selected to represent Waseda University in the prestigious Hong Kong International Case Competition this upcoming Fall. This opportunity will enable students to showcase their exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities on a global stage as they compete against teams from esteemed business schools worldwide.
Overall, the second GMP Forum event proved to be a remarkable platform for learning, networking, and personal growth. The GMP will continue to hold a monthly series of events specifically crafted to promote mutual learning among GMP students by providing them opportunities to engage in diverse group activities outside the traditional classroom setting.
