To all students:(in Undergraduate Schools, Graduate Schools, Intensive Japanese Language Program, and Art and Architecture School)

As previously notified on March 18, due to the earthquake off the Pacific coast of Tohoku, the first (spring) semester for AY2011 has been shortened to a period of 13 weeks from May 6 to August 4.

One semester at Waseda University usually consists of 15 weeks. For the coming semester, therefore, the classes designed for a 15-week semester will be conducted in 13 weeks. However, the University will ensure that all students will be able to achieve the objectives which have been set for each one of the classes and described in the syllabus, and that there will be no difference in the contents and the quality of the classes.

In order to guarantee these, all undergraduate and graduate schools will take appropriate measures, including provision of information necessary for preparatory self-study in April (through Course N@vi etc.) and/or supplementary classes after commencement of the classes, according to the contents and types of all courses (compulsory, elective etc.).

Please frequently visit the website of your affiliated undergraduate/graduate school, carefully check e-mails for updates on class information, and follow the instructions to start your studies for the semester.
