Starting from academic year 2023, the class time per period will be changed from 90 to 100 minutes in order to realize the Waseda Vision 150 Core Strategy 2, “Reconstruction of the Education System to Nurture Global Leaders.” The class timetable and number of class weeks each semester will be changed as follows.

Class Timetable

*Each Period may be divided into two 50-minute classes.
*Other graduate schools with night classes may apply the timetable for the Graduate School of Business and Finance.

Number of class weeks each semester

Applicable schools

All undergraduate schools, graduate schools, centers  (holding formal classes) and the Art and Architecture School

Changes

  • Each class time per period will be changed from 90 minutes to 100 minutes. Period 1 will start 10 minutes earlier.
  • Since the class time per period will be 10 minutes longer, it will be easier to conduct interactive problem finding and solving type classes.
  • With this restructuring of the academic calendar to allow for more flexibility, there will be more options for participation in internships, overseas exchange programs, and extra-curricular activities during the semester breaks.
