On June 24, Waseda had the great honor to welcome Mr Jan Truszczynski, the European Union’s Director-General for Education and Culture (DG EAC) from Brussels, responsible for the well-known EU exchange and mobility programs such as ERASMUS+ and the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions.
Mr Truszczynski began by noting the reputation of Waseda’s strong ties with the EU through the EUIJ and many joint Master’s and PhD programs with European universities.
He described the educational reforms currently underway at the EU, and the various scholarship programs available to study in Europe. During the lecture, he emphasized the importance of gaining intercultural experiences through study abroad, and the attractiveness of such experience to employers.
With 200 attendees and active participation from Waseda students in the Q&A session, the lecture was a huge success. The event will certainly contribute to further deepening the ties between Waseda University and the EU.
