Waseda dedicated the new Building 3 on September 18. Located between the Main Gate and the Okuma statue, it has 14 floors above ground, and recreates the former building on the lower floors.

The former building, opened in 1933, was a landmark of the Waseda campus, mainly used by the storied Political Science and Economics school. The new building recreates the old fau00E7ade and entrance area, and reuses the iron entry doors, linking the historic past to the future.

As President Kaoru Kamata said at the dedication ceremony, “we will develop this as a space for educating the future generations of global leaders.”

As part of the dedication events, a plaque was unveiled honoring donors to the School of Political Science and Economics 130th Anniversary Global Leaders Fund, with over 100 donors attending. As of August 31, the fund counts 1330 donations, totaling over 251 million yen.
