President of Palau Remengesau visits Waseda

On September 16, the President of the Republic of Palau, Tommy Esang Remengesau, Jr., visited Waseda University.
President Remengesau met up with Waseda University President Kaoru Kamata to discuss on ways to improve ties and cooperation in the field of research and education between Palau and Waseda University.
In the meeting, President Kamata stressed the importance of fostering young talents from both countries for the future. On the other hand, President Remengesau commented on the close geographical distance of both countries, and expressed optimism in working on ways to improve ties and exchange with Waseda University. Additionally, President Remengesau also complimented Waseda University’s effort in promoting diversity on campus. “Preserve the Best, Improve the Rest,” these wise words from President Remengesau when he visited Waseda University serve as an encouragement and stimulus for the University’s future development.
The University hopes that President Remengesau’s visit will serve as an opportunity to promote further exchange between Waseda University and Palau, and that there will be more people in future to contribute to the development of Asia and Oceania.
