In this seminar, Professor Baldwin from the Graduate Institute, Geneva will give a talk based on his recent book, “The Great Convergence: Information Technology and the New Globalization.” A new kind of globalization driven by information technology encourages technology transfer to developing countries, which leads to their rapid industrialization. In the era of this “Great Convergence,” developed and developing countries face unprecedented policy challenges in their efforts to maintain reliable growth and social cohesion. Based on these arguments, Professor Baldwin will discuss the future of the world economy. In addition, as a specialist in free trade, he will touch upon the future of EU after Brexit and TPP.

About the Speaker
Professor Baldwin is one of the most prominent scholars in international economics. He has published papers in international trade, economic growth, and economic geography. He is also the policy director at the Center for Economic Policy Research in London and editor-in-chief of VoxEU.org
