Assistant Professor INATA Kana‘s paper “Protest, counter-protest and organizational diversification of protest groups” is awarded 2021 Glenn Palmer Prize by the Peace Science Society (International), a major academic organization on the causes of conflict between and within states, conflict resolution, and the promotion of sustainable peace. It is awarded to the best paper published in “Conflict Management and Peace Science”, a major journal of the Peace Science Society (International), in 2020.
This paper challenges the conventional wisdom that the more resources are mobilised, the more powerful the protest is, by using formal models and case studies.
