主 旨 / Outline
“Food Loss and Wastes Management for Sustainable Development and Food Security”
This seminar will discuss the importance of food loss and wastes management for sustainable development and food security. In order to achieve food security, agricultural policy makers have focused on increasing farm productivity, but have ignored food loss and wastes management. It would be impossible to supply proper food without controlling food wastes because more than 40 percent of food has wasted after production. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the UN (2015) set a goal to halve per capita global food waste at the retail and consumer level, and reduce food loses along production and supply chains. The seminar will discuss the determinants of food and wastes and policy evaluation on regulation and economic incentives.
