主 旨 / Outline
“Multilateral and Regional Approaches to Free Trade and Their Impacts to Agriculture”
This presentation will focus on multilateral and regional approaches of agricultural trade liberalization since 1990s. The WTO system launched in 1995 and changed agricultural and food policies in the world. All countries have similar agricultural policies because the WTO controls market access, domestic support and export subsidy in all member countries. Regional agreements such as free trade agreements as substitutes for the multilateral WTO trade reform have grown dramatically in 2000s. This seminar will discuss the multilateral and regional approaches to free trade and the methodologies of analyzing trade liberalization and their impacts to agriculture.
