WIAS Visiting Researcher Lecture:
Professor YANG, Ziming “Soil colloids in the environment” (6/9)
Outline
In this lecture, I will introduce the fundamental properties of soil particles and colloids and how they interact with complex soil environments. Soil colloids are the smallest fraction of soil particles, which represent many unique properties such as large surface area and highly reactive ionic structures. This lecture will introduce the type and nature of soil colloids in natural environments, and also demonstrate how these fine particles could influence the fate and transport of nutrients and pollutants in soil ecosystems.
