Joint Appointment Prof. Zsolt Radak (University of Physical Education, Hungary) visited Waseda to teach intensive course

Waseda University’s Health Promotion: The Joy of Sports and Exercise Unit was pleased to invite Joint Appointment Professor Zsolt Radak from the University of Physical Education, Hungary to teach an in-person intensive lecture — “The Physiology and Biochemistry of Physical Training (15 sessions)” — to Waseda University students from July 1 to 29, 2022.

Waseda University’s Faculty of Sport Sciences and the University of Physical Education entered an exchange agreement in 2018 and have been collaborating on student exchanges and joint research. Since then, Prof. Radak has been serving as a joint appointment faculty member at the Graduate School of Sport Sciences, teaching students and offering supervision in research activities. In 2019, Prof. Radak had come to Waseda’s Tokorozawa Campus to teach in person, but was unable to do so in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, making this year’s visit his first in three years. In the two years where he could not come to the University, he continued offer online lectures, as well as work together with Waseda University’s Professor Katsuhiko Suzuki to hold an online mini-workshop between the two universities.

Prior to teaching his lecture, Prof. Radak visited Tokorozawa Campus to meet with Prof. Hiroaki Masaki, the leader of the Health Promotion: The Joy of Sports and Exercise Unit.

Dr. Radak also serves as Director to the University of Physical Education’s Research Center for Molecular Exercise Science, and has experience teaching as a guest lecturer globally, in countries and regions such as China, Japan, Taiwan, and the U.S., in fields such as exercise physiology, biology of ageing, training theory, and exercise biochemistry. His lecture is a wonderful opportunity for our students, who are also aiming to play active roles globally.
