On February 6, 2024 (Tue.), Waseda University’s Faculty of Sport Sciences held a Departmental Agreement signing ceremony with Seoul National University. After the ceremony, Senior Dean of the Faculty of Sport Sciences Hirotaka Matsuoka, who is also the deputy leader of the Top Global University project’s Health Promotion Unit, gave a lecture to local students.
Prof. Matsuoka’s lecture was titled “Current Issues in the Japanese Sports Business” and he presented it to the students of the Department of Physical Education, College of Education, Seoul National University. In addition to local students, around 30 international students from various countries also attended .
The lecture was followed by a Q&A session, where partcipants proactively asked many questions. Students showed a lot of interest in the studies on Japan’s sport business.
After the lecture, the delegation had research exchange meetings and a campus tour. Associate Professor Jaebum Park (Human Biomechanics), Professor Yongho Lee (Rehabilitation Movement for the Elderly and Disabled), and Associate Professor Hyoyoul Moon (Exercise Biochemistry) introduced their research activities and students from their labs also joined the discussions. The facility tour took the visitors to an indoor golf practice facility, a student gym, and a gymnastics arena.
