Since February 28th, the Middle East has been dragged in a new regional war which in many ways is different from former ones. Although the objective of regime change is not new (Iraq in 2003), the direct military involvement of Israel, along the United States, in a full-fledged war against Iran is indeed new. We will shed light on the various reasons that explain the Israeli rationale to go to war, in the post-October 2023 context, and the limits of this strategy.
