For PC captioning, two supporters will be assigned per class. As a general rule, due to the significant concentration required for support, PC captioning is not conducted by one supporter except under inevitable circumstances, in order to keep the supporters in good shape.
The student with hearing impairment typically decides where to sit. If the teacher’s voice is difficult to hear, however, this could affect the support. In such cases, the supporters should discuss with the student with hearing impairment and decide on a place to sit. The supporters will sit on either side of the student with hearing impairment.
The student with hearing impairment is the one taking the class, and the supporters are attending the class in order to provide support for information assurance. The supporters will refrain from stepping ahead of the student with hearing impairment and keep to their activities as supporters.
The Support Report should be submitted to the Office once a month.
