Acknowledging that the inappropriate collection of information about gender inflicts psychological trauma upon sexual minorities, the university is evaluating the necessity of the section used to identify respondents’ “sex” on various documentation. If the collection of this information is deemed to be unnecessary, this section will be removed. If, for rational reasons, the section remains, the University will adjust the way it is queried.
In March 2020, the University published the 3rd edition of its Guide to Consideration and Accommodation for Sexual Minority Students (for faculty and staff) and distributed it to all faculty and staff.
