Use of the Nursery Center Available for Students, Faculty, and Staff

The Nursery Center, specializing in temporary childcare services, is provided to support the work–life balance of the Waseda University students, faculty, and staff. From the academic year 2023, the Nursery Center has extended its working hours in tandem with the change in classroom instruction timing (i.e., with the introduction of 100-minute classes).

The work of the Nursery Center has been consigned to Poppins FamilyCare Inc., which provides the full-range of day nursery services. The Nursery Center staff is assigned in accordance with the number of children at the Nursery, and their ages in months and years. Basically, for every child, two staff members are assigned. English-speaking staffers are also available.

In addition to the weekday Nursery hours, the Nursery is available for use on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays. Please avail yourself of the Day Nursery services whenever necessary.

User’s Voice

I have arranged my graduate school schedule to be able to meet my daughter at the end of her nursery-school day. I especially use the Nursery Center to attend my seminar course on Thursdays.

After picking up my daughter at her nursery school, I drop her at the Nursery Center, before going to attend my course. The children at the Nursery Center are taken to many interesting and fun sites, including the Okuma Garden, exhibitions within the campus, and strolls to various other places in the neighborhood. The Nursery staff listen attentively to my daughter, who can be extremely talkative! Now she looks forward to that one day during the week when she can go the Nursery Center.

At the nursery center, there are always two staffers with my daughter. They pay close attention to her, all the while sharing their bright smiles. It is immensely reassuring for me to have a good and safe place for my daughter so that I can concentrate on my studies. Thank you all so very much!
