Alumni Sari Maeda Selected to Represent Japan in the Biathlon at Beijing 2022!

On January 16, the Japan Biathlon Federation announced the athletes who will represent Japan in the biathlon at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, and Waseda University alumni Sari Maeda (affiliated with the Physical Training School JSDF, graduated from the School of Sport Sciences in 2013, and former member of the Waseda University Skiing Club) was selected.

In the announcement, the top athletes were selected from the results of the Biathlon World Cup held in Germany from January 12 to 16, and this will be Maeda’s second consecutive Winter Olympics after she participated in the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics.

Sari Maeda

Born in Hokkaido in 1990, she graduated from Waseda University’s School of Sport Sciences in 2013. While a member of Waseda University’s Skiing Club, she participated in and won the Intercollegiate Ski Association of Japan Championships for cross-country skiing. After graduating from Waseda University, she pivoted to the biathlon, and then participated in the biathlon at the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics.
