上智大学で英文学を専攻し、実験音声学の論文で修士号も取得しました。2度目の修士課程では、ウォーリック大学の演劇研究科でハロルド・ピンターの戯曲を研究しました。同じくウォーリック大学で授与された博士号は、20世紀のヨーロッパと北米の文脈におけるパフォーマンス、演劇、即興の出会いに焦点を当てたものでした。2001年に早稲田大学政治経済学部に着任し、2年生の英語、演劇と文学のコース、1・2年生のゼミを担当している。現在の研究テーマは、20世紀英語とアイルランド戯曲の制作、特に音声が他の種類の音声とどのように相互作用するかについてです。
I studied English Literature as an undergraduate at Sophia University, where I also completed an MA, with a thesis in experimental phonetics. For a second MA, I researched plays by Harold Pinter in the School of Theatre Studies at the University of Warwick. My PhD, also awarded by Warwick, focused on the meeting point of performance, theatre, and improvisation in the contexts of twentieth-century Europe and North America. I joined the School of Political Science and Economics at Waseda University in 2001, where I have taught second-year English, courses on drama and literature, and seminars for first- and second-year students. My current research interests lie in twentieth-century English and Irish drama in production, especially, how speech sounds interact with other kinds of sound.
