２００１年英国エセックス大学応用言語学Ｐｈ．Ｄ．取得。２００２年早稲田大学政治経済学部専任講師。２０１０年より同教授。同年、オックスフォード大学現代日本研究ＭＳｃ取得。St. Antony’s Collegeにて客員研究員（２０１０年～２０１１年）。近年の研究テーマは、言語学理論（ハリデーの選択体系機能理論やレイコフの認知メタファー理論など）に基づいた政治演説やメディアのディスコース分析。
Emi Sauzier-Uchida received her Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from the University of Essex in 2001. In 2002, she joined the School of Political Science and Economics and was appointed professor in 2010. In 2011, she served as a visiting researcher at St. Antony’s College, Oxford University. Her current interests are focused on the use of linguistic frameworks to investigate political, economic, and social phenomena. In particular, she specializes in applying discourse analysis frameworks (such as Halliday’s functional grammar and cognitive metaphor theory) to examine and evaluate contemporary political speeches and media texts.
