Willy Jou received a PhD in political science from the University of California Irvine. His research focuses on comparing ideological orientations and attitudes toward democracy, particularly in new democracies. He is a co-author of Why Policy Representation Matters (Routledge, 2015) and Generation Gap in Japanese Politics (Palgrave Macmillan, 2016).
