政治地理学と経済地理学の接点を中心に、さまざまな地域がデジタル化とネットゼロ経済への移行という課題にどのように取り組んでいるかに焦点を当てている。早稲田大学に着任する以前は、ケンブリッジ大学のPolicy Evidence Unit for University Commercialization and Innovation (UCI)およびLSEのInternational Inequalities Instituteで博士研究員を務めた。博士号取得以前は、LSEの研究・イノベーション部門に勤務し、欧州委員会の研修生を務めた。
Fireder Mitsch research interests revolve around the intersection of political and economic geography, with a focus on how different regions are addressing the challenges of digitization and transitioning to a net-zero economy. Prior to joining Waseda University, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Policy Evidence Unit for University Commercialization and Innovation (UCI) at the University of Cambridge, and the LSE’s International Inequalities Institute. Before pursuing his PhD, he worked at the LSE Research and Innovation Division and was a trainee at the European Commission.
