English Academic Writing Roundtable – March 14 (Fri)

The Research Institute for Letters, Arts and Sciences at Waseda University will hold the “English Academic Writing Roundtable” on Friday, March 14. This event is primarily aimed at early-career researchers who actively wish to publish their research in English. Panelists with experience in publishing academic books and journal articles in English will share their insights. Participants will have the opportunity to directly ask panelists questions in a casual setting.

This event is recommended for researchers who are considering publishing their research in English but have no prior experience, or those who wish to learn more about the processes and approaches involved in book publishing and journal article submissions. We encourage you to join us!

  • Eligibility: Graduate students of the Graduate School of Letters, Arts and Sciences, Waseda University.
    *If you are not enrolled in the Graduate School of Letters, Arts and Sciences but wish to participate, please consult via the application form below.
  • Capacity: 20 participants (no limit for online participation)
  • Application Deadline: Thursday, March 13, 12:00 PM

Panelists

Kaoru Takahashi (Project Researcher, Graduate School of Education, The University of Tokyo)
Ph.D. from the University of London. Appointed to the current position in 2022. Specializes in sociology focusing on migration, mobility, and transnational identities.

Wakiko Ohira (Assistant Professor, Center for Global Education, Sophia University)
Ph.D. in International Social Sciences, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, The University of Tokyo. Appointed to the current position in 2024. Specializes in African politics and African area studies.
