The Global Japanese Studies Model Unit will organize the lectures by Dr. Thomas McAuley (Lecturer, The University of Shefield) and Dr. Janine Beichman (Professor Emerita, Daito Bunka University) , who have been actively translating Japanese Waka and Tanka.

Following to the lectures, we will provide an opportunity of the translation contest (Honyaku Awase) like a poetry contest (Uta Awase), and exploring the possibility of translation through discussion.
