A high level of Japanese language proficiency is required for study and research activities at the Graduate School. The entrance examination is not conducted simply to measure Japanese language proficiency, but rather to carefully assess whether the applicant has knowledge of Japanese language education and the potential to complete a thesis for a degree after admission. All entrance examination guidelines are available only in Japanese, and all inquiries are accepted only in Japanese. In addition, applicants are not allowed to contact their prospective supervisors in advance of applying to the Graduate School.
