Representing Philippines, Kiyomi Watanabe wins historic medal in Judo at Asian Games 2018

On August 30, fourth-year student Kiyomi Watanabe representing the Philippines won the silver medal in the Women’s Judo 63kg at the Asian Games 2018. This is the first historic medal won by a Filipino since the establishment of the Philippines Judo Federation.

Congratulations Kiyomi!

Born in the Philippines to a Japanese father and Filipino mother, Kiyomi is currently a student at Waseda’s School of Sport Sciences. The University will continue to cheer Kiyomi on and wish her success in her future games.
