Congratulations to the Spring 2016 Graduates

Waseda University held its commencement ceremonies for the graduating class of 2016 from March 24th through the 26th. This year, a total number of 12,245 students graduated, 727 of them being international students.
During the ceremony on the 24th, President Kaoru Kamata congratulated the graduates and presented the Azusa Ono Memorial Awards, recognizing students or organizations who contributed to excellence in academia, the arts, or athletics.
The President encouraged students with the following message:
“With a strong foundation of knowledge, stamina, and character fostered through your studies and experiences here at Waseda, we hope you will continue to challenge yourselves and make a difference in the world as global leaders.”

In addition, Korea University’s former alumni association president Shin-Il Chun delivered a speech as a keynote speaker and received an honorary doctorate degree.
