Waseda University Alumni Association is an alumni association that has been active throughout Japan and around the world since its establishment in 1885. At Waseda University, graduates are called "alumni".
What is alumni network "Tomonkai"?
The "Tomonkai" is an organization of Waseda University alumni. Currently, there are approximately 1,400 Tomonkai, including regional Tomonkai in Japan and overseas, occupational Tomonkai for specific industries and companies, annual Tomonkai, and seminar Tomonkai. The strong bonds of Tomon provide powerful support and information exchange both locally and overseas. Click here for a list of Waseda University Alumni Association branches and Tomonkai.
Stay connected to Waseda even after graduation
The annual committee, selected from among all those graduating this year, will coordinate the holding of the annual Tomonkai, which will serve as the same group's meeting. "The Annual Tomonkai 5th Anniversary Festival'' is held on the 5th year of graduation. In subsequent milestone years, the university will invite you to "Homecoming Day"!
Also, the Waseda Card, a "second student ID" for alumni, is a must-have. This card is issued in partnership with a credit card company by Waseda University and the Waseda University Alumni Association. 0.5% of the amount spent is returned to the university, contributing to student support through scholarship, and there are various other benefits, such as a service to send congratulatory telegrams at weddings.
The "Annual Tomonkai 5th Anniversary Festival" for the graduating class of 2026 is scheduled to be held in 2030 (left). The Waseda Card offers benefits such as discounts at participating stores (right).
