Congratulations to all the graduates! Many Waseda University students have appeared in Waseda Weekly. We asked three graduates who appeared in the "People" and "Focus" sections about their future aspirations.
"I want to pursue space development to realize my childhood dream."
Graduated from School of Fundamental Science and Engineering, Maya Abe
Abe-san, who carries the dream of realizing a future where everyone can go to space, is pursuing a path in space development. He took on the challenge of the 5th Kibo Robot Programming Competition (Kibo-RPC), and decided to continue his studies after graduation.
"Space development is a technological mixed martial art in which anyone can play an active role. While studying more specialized space engineering at graduate school, I would like to create new value in space that will change society together with my colleagues from diverse backgrounds!"

"To the next Olympics as both a working professional and an athlete"
Graduated School of Sport Sciences, Shiho Matsumoto
Matsumoto-san, a member of the swimming team who participated in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, also served as a reader monitor for Waseda Weekly!
"After graduation, I will continue to work as an athlete employee while continuing to compete. I want to cherish the deep learning I have gained at Waseda University and the connections I have made with the people I have met. I will also compete in the Los Angeles Olympics, scheduled to be held in 2028, and do my best to perform well in the finals."

"I aim to pass the bar exam and win an official shogi match"
Graduated from School of Law, Kosei Kawashima
Kawashima-san is a member of the Shogi club (official student club) and won the 78th Student Meijin Tournament. He plans to continue his studies in order to pursue his new dream.
"After graduation, I plan to go on to the Waseda University Law School and will study hard with the aim of passing the bar exam. Meanwhile, in shogi, although it seems like a long way off given my current level of ability, I hope to once again win on the professional stage."
