Waseda University’s Health Promotion: The Joy of Sports and Exercise Unit was pleased to invite Associate Professor Rui Biscaia from the University of Bath, UK, as a visiting faculty member to teach an in-person intensive lecture on Sport Sponsorship Management (14 sessions) to Waseda University students from 26 June to 19 July. Also, a mini-workshop ‘Publishing in Sport Management Journals’ is planned for 13 July.
The course description for this intensive is as follows (extract from syllabus):
This course aims to develop knowledge of the theories and principles of sport sponsorship. It follows a structured approach covering the importance of sponsorship for the parties involved, as well as the planning, implementation and evaluation processes. Different types of sponsorship in the sport context are discussed. The risks and challenges associated with sport sponsorship are also critically analysed, as well as how these can be mitigated in order to promote critical reflection and help students’ future professional practice. In addition to providing students with background theories, the course also relies on examples and case studies from diverse sport contexts.
