Lecture Report: “Human Resource Management” by Dr. Kirstin Hallmann from German Sport University Cologne

Waseda University’s Health Promotion: The Joy of Sports and Exercise Unit invited Associate Professor PD Dr. Kirstin Hallmann from the German Sport University Cologne for an intensive fall lecture series (15 sessions) from September 29 to October 20. Dr. Hallmann is a world-renowned researcher in the field of sports management, and visited our institute as a visiting scholar in 2013. She has a track record of joint research with faculty members of our university and has a good understanding of international research and educational activities.

The theme of this intensive lecture was Human Resource Management (HRM), and various topics related to this field were covered. Below is a sample of the titles of the intensive lectures.

The classes covered specific HRM methods and concepts, as well as their challenges, in order to help students design their careers. Classes also included a self-assessment test for reflection and plenty of discussion, making it a valuable learning opportunity for the students.
