Waseda University’s Health Promotion: The Joy of Sports and Exercise Unit was pleased to invite Dr. Kirstin Hallmann from the German Sport University Cologne as a visiting faculty member, to teach an in-person intensive lecture on Human Resource Management (15 sessions) to Waseda University students from September 29 to October 20, 2022. A mini-workshop will be held after the intensive lecture sessions are done.
Dr. Hallmann, Senior Lecturer and Researcher at the German Sport University Cologne, is a renowned researcher specializing in sports management. She has a track record of joint research with faculty members of Faculty of Sport Sciences, and is expected to contribute to the promotion of research. Although the subject of Human Resource Management is not offered in Graduate School of Sport Sciences, it is an important subject in the field of sports organization management and will be a valuable opportunity for students studying about this field.
Prior to her lecture, Dr. Hallmann visited the Higashi Fushimi Campus to meet with Professor Hirotaka Matsuoka, Dean of the Sports Science Department, who hosted Dr. Hallmann.
The Faculty of Sport Sciences at Waseda University and German Sport University Cologne, Dr. Hallmann’s home university, signed a student exchange agreement in 2018 and have mutually sent and accepted exchange students. This year, we have accepted two international students in the spring semester and three in the fall semester. In addition, two students from our University have been dispatched to study abroad from the fall semester, as in the previous year.
