The Health Promotion: The Joy of Sports and Exercise unit invited Dr. Wongpipit of Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, to give an online lecture on February 16. The lecture was attended by about 50 people, from both Thailand and Japan.
Before the lecture, Prof. Masashi Miyashita (Faculty of Sport Sciences, Waseda University) introduced Dr. Wongpipit’s career and research.
The lecture started with a definition of what sedentary entails, and then Dr. Wongpipit talked about the effects and risks of sedentary lifestyle on health, and how to improve it, using many materials from his research.
The 60-minute lecture was followed by a question and answer period. Since this was a topic of interest to many people due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, many participants had questions. Dr. Wongpipit explained each topic in detail, which helped the participants deepen their understanding of the topic.
The Health Promotion: The Joy of Sports and Exercise unit will continue to invite researchers who are active in the world to give online lectures. If you are interested in participating, please click the link below for more information.
