A special online workshop “Macroeconomic Modeling and Simulation” presented by Professor Junior Maih (Senior Adviser, Norges Bank) was held at Waseda University from October 26 to December 7.
Professor Maih is a specialist of numerical analysis, simulation and estimation of Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium (DSGE) model in the field of macroeconomics. Specifically, he is well known for his contribution to the computational solution method of the regime switching DSGE model.
Focusing on the perfect foresight and the extend path simulation method, which are widely used for the simulation of the Covid 19 pandemic, Professor Maih gave a passionate workshop about a basic exposure to the main techniques involved in solving and analyzing regime switching DSGE models.
His method is widely demanded by several central banks and universities in the world. Not only the students of Waseda, but also young professors and researchers attended the seven-time sessions and listened Professor Maih’s talk enthusiastically.
