On August 22, Professor Stephen Heung-Sang Wong of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Specialization: nutritional and metabolic aspects of exercise, physical activity and sedentary behavior) visited the laboratory of Associate Professor Masashi Miyashita (Specialization: exercise metabolism) of Waseda’s Faculty of Sport Sciences, and 6 students from Assoc. Prof. Miyashita’ s lab and faculty engaged in an exchange. The Chinese University of Hong Kong is a partner university of Waseda.
Following the presentation and Q & A session by Prof. Wong regarding his research in nutritional and metabolic aspects of exercise and physical activity and sedentary behavior, he introduced the environment of the Chinese University of Hong Kong accepting international students.
Lastly, he appealed for expanding network between researchers through communication between graduate students by studying abroad.
Because of its native-like English academic environment and strong relationship with Loughborough University, where the Faculty of Sport Sciences has a departmental agreement with, the Chinese University of Hong Kong is a great option for Waseda’s sport science students intending to study or do research abroad.
More engaging exchange of students and faculty members is expected to be made in the future.
