Essex Summer School at WASEDA 2018
Waseda University’s Center for Positive/Empirical Analysis of Political Economy of the Top Global University Project and the University of Essex will co-organize Essex Summer School (ESS) at Waseda University this summer.
ESS will offer two courses: “Maximum Likelihood” and “Survival Analysis.”
Upon the completion of the course, the University of Essex will issue their formal certification. Thus, it may be possible to transfer the course’s credits (2 credits) to your university’s credits. Please ask your department and university to check whether the credits can be transferred. The courses’ credits can be transferred to the credits for the School of Political Science and Economics at Waseda University.

Course 1: Maximum Likelihood Estimation by Dr. Daina Chiba
Course 2: Survival Analysis, by Dr. Quiroz Flores Alejandro

September 10 – 14, and 18： 13:00-14:30, 14:45-16:15
September 19 and 20： 13:00-14:30 (Office hours after the class)
September 21 (Final Exam): 10:40-12:10 (A lunch reception after the exam)
The courses are designed for students who have already learned intermediate statistics and regression analysis.The courses are open to any university and any department although the number of seats is limited (up to 20 students). Although our main targets are graduate students, the courses are also open to undergraduate students.
