Historicizing the Asia-Pacific War in the New Millennium United States
■Abstract
This talk highlights her evolving ideas about practicing history and the public representation of WW II in the United States in the new millennium. Prof. Shimizu will undertake this task in the multiple implications of her being—as a post-WW II Asian American (shin issei), a parent, a history teacher working with Korean and Chinese students in the classroom in the United States, and a scholar engaged in researching and writing the history of the twentieth century world.
