We hold an international joint workshop with The Chinese University Hong Kong (CUHK) entitled “Energy-Next” on November 21.
CUHK Department of Engineering is developing the project on Energy Management System in Hong Kong Island, Prof. C.P.Wong, Dean of Engineering, talked about nanomaterials for energy applications, Assoc. Prof. A. Y. Zhang about battery energy storage system for primary frequency control, Assoc. Prof. J. Huang about operation of microgrid with renewable energy sources,and Assoc. Prof. M. Chen about online energy generation scheduling.

This time Professor S. T. Li from Xi’an Jiaotong University participated in the workshop as a guest speaker and introduced a project on ultra-high-voltage electricity transmission in China.
Professors from Waseda University talked about each of their research from the view point of “Energy-Next”.
Students from Waseda University also joined and this is a very encouraging experience for them, as they could exchange opinions with leading researchers.
CUHK and Waseda University promised to hold the second Energy-Next workshop in Hong Kong in 2016.
