The online course “Sport Safety: A Guide to Preventing Sudden Death in Sport” taught by Associate Professor Dr. Hosokawa will be officially launched on edX (MOOC: Massive Open Online Course) starting March 30, 2022.
Course Title: Sport Safety: A Guide to Preventing Sudden Death in Sport
Instructor: Dr.Yuri Hosokawa, Associate Professor, Waseda University
Language: English
Abstract: This lecture will focus on sudden death during sports activities. It is unfortunate that there is no end to the number of news stories of apparently healthy young people dying during sports activities that are originally meant to be enjoyed. In order to reduce the number of such accidents, this lecture will cover the basics of sports safety that not only students who aspire to become athletic trainers or sports leaders in the future, but also anyone involved in sports (leaders, educators, parents, medical personnel, etc.) should know.
