Income criteria for acceptance to scholarships

Many scholarships set out income criteria. Criteria are set out in consideration of family composition (number of family members, schools attended by other family members, etc.), income type, how students commute to classes, tuition fees and other circumstances. Unlike undergraduate school scholarships, some graduate school scholarships use the combined income of the student and his or her spouse to determine family income, as in the case of JASSO scholarships (Student loans). Please refer to the latest version of “Challenge” (a booklet providing scholarship information) for details of the income limits (guidelines) for each scholarship.
