During the university’s spring recess between 2/4/2025 and 3/31/2025, the GS Center at the Waseda University Student Diversity Center will modify our service availability. Please check our calendar for details: https://www.waseda.jp/inst/gscenter/en/
Opening Site: Room 103 in the Student Center (Building 30) on Toyama Campus
* Room 213 in Building 10 on Waseda Campus is closed.
General Opening Hours:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 10:00 am-4:00 pm (not open on holidays)
- Wednesday, 1:10 pm -4:00 pm (not open on holidays)
- Business administrative hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm
Available services from 2/4 through 3/31 (exceptions apply during the entrance exam lock-out period and designated dates posted on the calendar on our website)
(a)Individual Counseling (Remote: ✅; In-Person: ✅)
You can utilize our counseling services provided by our Gender and Sexuality Specialty Staff to address issues related to and stemming from gender and sexuality. Visit here for more information about our individual counseling services.
Eligibility:
- Students of Waseda University, Art and Architecture School of Waseda University, and other affiliated schools (fuzoku-gakkou)
- Faculty/staff members of Waseda University, Art and Architecture School of Waseda University, and other affiliated schools (fuzoku-gakkou)) to address topics related to your students; and
- Parents/guardians of Waseda University, Art and Architecture School of Waseda University, and other affiliated schools (fuzoku-gakkou) to address topics related to the students
※Please note that those from are not affiliated with Waseda University university are not eligible for the service.

(b)The Community Space Use (Remote: –; In-Person: –)
We temporarily close our in-person community space at the GS Center during the summer recess. If you would like to chat with someone about issues related to and stemming from gender and sexuality, please consider accessing our counseling services (available in English and Japanese).
(c)The library Use (Remote: –; In-Person:✅)
You can borrow and return books in person at our library at the GS Center. The period before and after the spring recess is our “Special Borrowing Period.”
- The remaining students and staff/faculty can borrow 5 books from 1/21(due date 4/21)
- The graduating students and other students who will not remain in Waseda University beyond this academic year can borrow 5 books from 1/21(due date 3/14)
