Anyone interested in the issues related to gender and sexuality is welcome to visit and utilize the resources at the GS Center, regardless of how they identify their SOGIE. However, the individual counseling services and checking out books from our library are limited to those who are affiliated with Waseda University.

The GS Center is a safe/resource center for LGBTQ+ and the allied students, as well as all students who are interested in issues related to gender and sexuality, such as queer studies, feminism, and social justice. So just by visiting the GS Center, you would not be outing yourself. If you prefer to spend time alone or quietly, we recommend that you use our library space. If you are still concerned about visiting the GS Center but would like to access our resources, please get in touch with us via email or by calling.

Personal information such as your name in the student records or legal name, address, gender identity, sexual and romantic orientation etc. are NOT collected at the GS Center, except for when you access the individual counseling services, and such information is deemed necessary to best support you.

During the academic year of 2022, there are staff members who can communicate in Japanese, English, and Chinese, so if you use one or more of these languages, you will be fine!

You can bring up anything related to and stemming from issues around gender and sexuality. As needed, with your consent, we will collaborate with or make a referral to the Health Support Center or Office for Promotion of Compliance.
