Gender and Sexuality CenterWaseda University

Currently, there are seven staff members, including two Gender and Sexuality Specialty Staff, and eight student staff members at the GS Center.

The individual counseling services on issues related to gender and sexuality are provided by the Specialty Staff. The counseling services are currently available in Japanese and English. To use other languages in the session, please coordinate with and bring your own interpreter. The language capacity of the student staff members and the staff members hosting the community space includes Japanese, English, Chinese (Mandarin), Korean, and Russian verbally, in writing, and via speech-to-text application.

Our student staff members are here to greet you, introduce you to the GS Center, give you book recommendations, and engage in conversations in the safe space. The student staff also make referrals to the Specialty Staff if you have more specific issues related to gender and sexuality that you would like to address.

The student staff members work at the GS Center every day in the afternoon. All the student staff members use the “student staff names.”
