We asked the participants of the Seminar on Balancing Work and Caregiving to complete a questionnaire after the event, and some respondents expressed the desire to learn more about the caregiving support systems and services offered on campus.
A collection of links to information about these support systems and services can be found on the “Child-rearing/Nursing Support” page of the Office for the Promotion of Equality and Diversity’s website. Visit the website for more information on the following topics:
- Availability of caregiver leave and systems to facilitate continuing to work while providing care
- Caregiver support resources
- Who to contact for help and information
The Act on Childcare Leave, Caregiver Leave, and Other Measures for the Welfare of Workers Caring for Children or Other Family Members was revised in May 2024 and will be enacted on April 1, 2025. Of particular note is the call to enhance support systems for providers of work and family care to allow employees to continue working while caring for their family.
Waseda University will continue to support students and employees who provide care while working and conducting research so that they may fulfill both endeavors with peace of mind.
