Waseda University Writing Program Twitter Acceptable Usage Policy

1.Purpose

The official Twitter account (henceforth, “account”) of the Waseda University Writing Program (henceforth, “Program”) will be used for the purpose of disseminating information to registered students of Waseda University, its staff, alumni and others who are interested in the Program’s activities. This Twitter acceptable usage policy (henceforth, “AUP”) applies to everyone who uses the account (henceforth, “users”).

2.Account

The name of the account will be: Waseda University Academic Writing Program.

3.Management of the Account

The account will be managed by the Academic Writing Department of Waseda University’s Global Education Program (henceforth, “administrator”). Enquiries should be directed to http://www.cie-waseda.jp/awp/en/wc/.

4.Information to be Disseminated

Information regarding the Program’s events, publications, courses, recruitment of tutors and instructors for on-demand writing classes of the Program (shidoin), updates to the Program’s homepage, as well as other relevant information will be disseminated through the account.

5.Account Posts

In accordance with, but not limited to, the uses stated in this AUP, users may utilize the ‘Reply’ and/or ‘Retweet’ functions on the account’s posts. The administrator may not be able to respond to all enquiries through the account, but will seek to respond where applicable. Enquiries should be directed to http://www.cie-waseda.jp/awp/en/wc/.

6.Copyrights

Except as permitted by the copyright law applicable to you, you may not reproduce or transmit any of the content on the account, without the permission of the administrator.

7.Unacceptable Use

Users of the account may not engage in the following activities, and where deemed inappropriate and/or abusive by the administrator, users’ posts may be deleted or have their user accounts blocked without notice.

  • Acts that violate, or possibly violate, the law applicable to you.
  • Acts that are offensive, or possibly offensive, to public order and standards of decency.
  • Acts that intrude on, or damage, the rights (including intellectual property, reputation, and privacy) of the administrator and/or a third party.
  • Acts involving false statements or information.
  • Acts with, or involving, the intention of profit.
  • Acts that engage in, or incite the engagement of, the harassment or harm of any individual or groups.
  • Any altercation to the information disseminated by the administrator.
  • Acts that are irrelevant to the information disseminated by the administrator.

8.Regarding Following and Followers

The public is welcome to follow the account, but the account is not obligated to follow users who are not affiliated with Waseda University.

9.Disclaimers

  • The administrator is obligated to take utmost care to provide accurate information to users, but neither the administrator nor Waseda University is responsible for any consequences arising from the use of information contained on the account.
  • The account may be suspended or terminated without notice.
  • Neither the administrator nor Waseda University is responsible for any damage to users or a third party, as a result of any change, suspension, or termination of the account, or if the account cannot be used partially or completely, for any reason.
  • Neither the administrator nor Waseda University is responsible for any conflict(s) between users or a third party.

10.Amendments

The administrator reserves the right to change or update this AUP without notice.
