A group of 18 college students from different universities in Japan used some of their New Year vacation time on January 5, 2019 to visit the Multiscale Analysis, Modelling and Simulation Unit of Waseda’s Top Global University Project and the Takizawa Lab. The students, who attended a two-week session at the Space School in Houston in 2017 and 2018, wanted to visit Tayfun Tezduyar (James F. Barbour Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Rice University and Joint Appointment Professor, Waseda University) while he is at Waseda, hear a lecture from him, have discussions with him, and learn more about the Takizawa Lab. The Space School in Houston is organized by Houston Association for Space and Science Education, which encourages education in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Takashi Kuraishi, a PhD student, gave a presentation about the Takizawa Lab. After the lectures and discussions, the students briefly visited the Takizawa Lab, saw the unique research environment it has, and met the students working in the lab on that day.
